COVID-19 Precautions at Hakuba 47

These measures are subject to change depending on the social situations.

We are taking the following precautions at Hakuba 47 in order to reduce your risk of COVID-19 infection and to prevent the spread of virus.

1. What we ask our guests to do:

In order to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus, the cooperation of all guests and staff of Hakuba 47 is required. Please take a moment to review our policies and be sure to follow all preventive measures as outlined below. We thank you for your patience and understanding in this.
  1. Refrain from entering the park if you have a fever over 37.5℃ or any other symptom of common cold.
  2. Stay away from other guests and staff if you feel sick even after you enter the park.
  3. Have a health screening and temperature check at the reception prior to entering the park.
  4. Wear face masks at all times inside the park.
  5. Use hand sanitizers at all locations in the park.
  6. Practice social distancing and minimize interaction with other guests and staff.
  7. We suggest you to install COVID-19 Contact Confirming Application.

2. What our staff should do:

  1. Have a health screening and temperature check every day before working hours.
  2. Wash hands and gargle often.
  3. Stay home when feeling sick.
  4. Wear masks or shields (e.g. inside restaurants, receptions, rental stores, etc.).
  5. Use partition screen at cashiers.
  6. Practice social distancing and minimize interaction with guests, when feasible.
  7. Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces and to open windows for ventilation.

3. On the slopes

  1. Wear a mask, face guard, or balaclava to cover your mouth and nose.
  2. Ensure that a safe distance is always maintained between yourself and those outside of your family/group. Avoid stopping in high traffic areas where other groups are congregating.

4. When loading, riding, and unloading a gondola

  1. Practice social distancing with other guests while standing in queue.
  2. Face-coverings/masks will be required to be worn when riding and waiting for the gondola.
  3. Ride a gondola with those in your family/group.
  4. Gondolas may run at high speed to shorten the time you are on the gondola.
  5. Gondolas usually run at high speed, but may be slowed down when it is windy.
  6. Face forward and refrain from unnecessary conversation.
  7. Leave the windows open at all times for ventilation.
  8. Gondolas are disinfected regularly.

Note: We might limit the number of passengers considering the weather and congestion.

5. When loading, riding, and unloading a chairlift

  1. Practice social distancing with other guests while standing in queue.
  2. Face-coverings/masks will be required to be worn when riding and waiting for the chairlift.
  3. Face forward and refrain from unnecessary conversation.
  4. For safety reasons, staff may have to have physical contact with guests whilst loading and unloading the lifts.

6. At the restaurants:

  1. Before entering the restaurant, please disinfect your hands using alcohol.
  2. Practice food safety and hygiene management thoroughly.
  3. Clean and disinfect the facilities frequently.
  4. Open doors and windows frequently to allow greater ventilation.
  5. Request our guests to wear masks when they are not at the table.
  6. Try separating the tables and seats, where feasible, to avoid congestion.
  7. Avoid crowding and create adequate spacing between individuals.
  8. Please refrain from unnecessary talking whilst eating.
  9. Do not stay at the table for too long after the meal.
  10. Use hand sanitizer before and after eating.
  11. Room humidifiers will be used to maintain humidity.

7. At the rental shop

  1. UV lights will be used to disinfect all rental items. Do not touch rental items more than necessary.
  2. Acrylic boards are set at the cashier, and trays are used to give or accept cash.
  3. Staff are practicing hygiene management and health check thoroughly.
  4. Practice social distancing with other guests inside the shop.
  5. Use hand sanitizer before entering the shop.

8. At ski/snowboard schools

  1. Those who have returned from overseas travel within 15 days from the lesson start date are not permitted to take lessons.
  2. Those who have had close contact with someone who has returned from overseas travel within 15 days from the lesson start date are not permitted to take lessons.
  3. Those who have a fever, cough, malaise, taste or smell disorder, etc. within the past 2 weeks from the date of the lesson are not permitted to take the lesson.
  4. Be sure to bring a mask and wear it on the day of the lesson.
  5. Practice social distancing with other guests in the school office and while standing in queue.
  6. Cooperate in preventing infection by cough etiquette, hand washing, and disinfecting.
  7. If any of the participants have tested positive, we will provide his/her personal information to public institutions - such as health centers - to prevent the spread of infection as necessary.
  8. For indoor lessons, please arrange video conferencing or use a setting that avoids the Three Cs (Closed spaces, Crowded places, Close-contact settings). When it is not possible to avoid the Three Cs, indoor meetings should not be held.
  9. In the case of school trips, follow the instructions and regulations of the school.

9. On a bus

  1. Buses will be disinfected with alcohol or hypochlorous acid regularly.
  2. Windows may be left open for ventilation.
  3. Face-coverings/masks are required to be worn at all times on the bus.
  4. Please refrain from loud conversations.
  5. Use hand sanitizer before getting on the bus.
  6. Buses with reserved seating are available.

10. At the restrooms:

  1. Turn off jet hand dryers and recommend our guests to use handkerchiefs.
  2. Clean and disinfect toilets more than once a day.

11. At the smoking areas:

  1. Smoke only at the designated areas.
  2. Ensure social distancing of 1 meter or more (approximately 2 meters if possible) even outside the buildings.
