If you try and open the lid...

According to yesterdays weather forecast, it should be raining a lot today plus strong wind. When we opened in the morning the wind was alright, and it was only raining a bit.
We could open all lifts except for Line E.
Maybe yesterday's forecast was the reason there were almost no customers today. It felt a bit lonely...
But those who came and entered the ski or snowboard school had a great time to improve their skills. Also they didn't really have to look out for others...

This is a dish I ordered at my visit at the restaurant "Carol" which is at the top station of our Gondola Line 8. It's called Jambalaya.
Because there aren't a lot of Menu choices at "Carol", this dish is a great alternative. You have spicy sausages, salsa, chicken and pilaf on one plate!
The amount is also just right, so it is definitely a recommendation!

If you ask some of the guests at "Carol" where there from, you get a lot of answers.
This group just met while skiing in Hakuba47. For some of them it's the first time in 47. We're happy to hear they enjoyed their time here. Please come again!

This is the part of R-6 we used for a snowboard cross event last weekend. There will be another event on the 20th.
We opened this part for everyone the last few days, but as were preparing the next competition again, it will be closed again in the evening.
Of course it's also closed during the competition on the 20th.
It's possible to enter a special lesson or the competition until the 20th, though.
How about challenging yourself?

The arrival of spring!

After we had to put almost every lift on hold due to the strong wind yesterday, today there was no cloud, no wind...!
The temperature also kept going up the whole day, so it felt like a nice spring day.
The were a lot of people on the upper part of the mountain who were boarding without jacket.

Instead of cold protection, you sun protection now!
It's not that hard to get a sunburn in the mountains, so please be careful!

Even sitting in the lift it's not cold if you're only in T-Shirt.
When it's getting spring, the snow quality will get more difficult and you have to move more, so taking a refreshing break while sitting on the lift is really nice~
As we have a lot of fast lifts in Hakuba47 you can enjoy a cold breeze!
So Hakuba47 is definitely one of the best ways to spend your spring time in the mountains.

Yesterday in the middle of the storm we had the FIS slope style competition.
We had to cancel it halfway, but the items stayed the way they were prepared for the competition. So the athletes who did feel unaccomplished because of that were using the terrain park again for practice, today.

Everyone is enjoying spring ski time!
It's still fun to ski, in this weather beer just tastes great, with the sun out like this you can even take a nap...?!
Mhm, that sounds a bit dangerous... You better choose a place were there aren't too many people skiing, ok? ^^

Asia Open!

It was great weather when I woke up!
Best weather for competitions and photos! That's what I thought until it became windy...
It was getting stronger and stronger and the athletes were competing with the wind more that with the other athletes.
But as those were top class athletes it really felt different. There a lot of people taking photos or videos or both at the same time!
Also the special seats at Line AB were filled most of the time.
You could here them cheering "Aahs" and "Oohs" all the time!

Even thought the was so strong some of the banners were blown away, the athletes showed some high class jumps!
We managed to finish the preliminaries with one run for every class, but than we had to stop because of the wind. In the end we had to use this preliminary result as the final result...

Although we weren't happy about how it turned out, we somehow managed to finish the first Slope Style in Japan.
After everyone skied/boarded down safely, we held the commendation ceremony at Alice. For the Top 3 of the professionals there even was prize money.

This was the first time for a competition like this, but we plan to do another one next year. Would be great if this would be an event where we have to close the whole park, one day, and all seats are filled with people watching the competition...

Everyone else who hasn't been in our terrain park, yet. You should check at least once! There are a lot of different items - it's definitely fun!

From now on till the end of March we will hand out free roll sandwiches every weekend. The first 30 customers who purchase something after 11:00 will get this limited edition sandwich.
You will get those tomorrow, as well!
