... and from tomorrow heavy snowfall???

Recording to the forecast it will snow heavy until Friday: Hokuriku region of Honshu with 70cm, North-east region with 60cm, on Hokkaido with 40cm, Nagano prefecture, Gifu prefecture and Kinki region with 30cm and Chugoku region of western Honshu with 20cm fresh snow (source: Yahoo News).

And now, bits of knowledge!
This is often said about the the north parts in nagano prefecture: If it snows in the very north region (Omachi, Hakuba, Otari,...), it won`t snow in in the hokushin region (Shigakogen, Nozawa,...) much. On the opposite, if it snows heavy in the hokushin region, it doesn`t snow in the very north region.

Recording to that, there is lack of snow in Hakuba, because it is snowing hard in Nozawa region!

We had 30cm of powdery fresh snow at Hakuba 47 today.
We wish you a nice day at our resort!

This picture shows the Snow Park after the remaking while a boarder jumps on the BIG AIR!

Please be careful in the Snow Park and refer from unreasonable boarding / skiing!

Something big arose next to the Pair-lift Line E...
This is going to be a sculpture for the snow sculpture event! There are beautiful snow sculptures at the Pair-lift Line E every year: Pikachu, Kachapin, Spongebob,...
What will it be this time?? - It`s still a secret..
We are looking forward for it!!

After a long time blue sky and sunshine!

Some fluttering snowflakes in the morning made us think that we would get another snowy day at the resort, but round about 10 a.m. the sun came through the clouds and send them away.
Unfortunately the north alps were covered in snowy clouds, but from the east side to the north you had a wonderful view with a blue blue sky and sunshine!

That was a really nice day at Hakuba 47!

The snow density on the slopes were soft and fluffy and made the ride on the powdery snow to a great experience!

It looks like the boarder on the picture above disappears in the powdery snow?! - Well, that was todays riding style at our resort!
A great feeling!!

This picture was taken at the Snow Park after its remaking.
You see here the a lane for advanced boarders and skiers - looks pretty dangerous, doesn`t it!!

The BIG is `round about 17m long, the second is 14m long. Furthermore, there are a high rainbow rail, up coller BOX, transfer wide BOX, transfer rail, 10m long down rail - in other words: high level, high quality at our Snow Park!

Today not only Pairlift Line A, but also Pairlift Line B was open, so you could watch amazing jumps and tricks from a short distance while you were on you way up to the top again!

Due to strong winds the BIG kicker was closed, but feel free to ride the rainbow!

What`s that?! Why does this customer has a blue leash....??
If you look carefully, you see that the customer isn`t riding on a snowboard, but on a snowskate!
You ride a snowskate in the same way you do it with a skateboard - in other words: you are on the snowskate without bindings and therefore you need to fix it to you. Otherwise its gone when you fall over...

It is hard to believe, but he were riding on the snowskate normally on every slope!
That`s impressive and really cool! :)

The heavy snowfall takes a short break

The heavy snowfall we had in the last days turned into slightly falling snow flakes, so it seemed as if the snowfall is taking a short break for now.
Still, with -9 degrees in the morning and -7 in the evening we had another cold day at the resort.

This is a picture of the Snow Park after the remaking and as you can see, the "Big Air" kicker is now really huge! Thanks to the freezing temperatures and the snowfall it is now in a really good condition (^'^)

Due to the forecast there will be another cold weather wave next week. We are sure that we will be able to say then that the Half Pipe will be finished by then!!

・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・
While we are speaking of promptly heavy snowfall, you might have seen on the TV that there were two disasters these days where an avalanche came down in the Hakuba area. The police is still searching one person by helicopter, who is missing since January, 27th.

There are more and more boarders and skiers, who enjoys riding of the tracks, but disasters like this ones shows how dangerous it is!!
You even don`t know when and how, but then suddenly it might happen in seconds and you can`t escape of it...

Please take good care of your self and refer from lightheaded riding...

Tomorrow we will restart the preparations for the "Snow Love Festival".
Well, in the end we plan to have 6 snow huts and thanks to the snowfall in the last days we are confident to finish them!

On February, 10th we will have some fireworks at Hakuba 47, so come and visit us and celebrate this event with us together!
