Hakuba47 WINTER SPORTS PARK

Yesterdays strong wind turned today in really find weather today.
Thanks to all the customers, who spent the last day of 2011 with us in Hakuba 47!

This picture was taken at the same place as yesterday. The customers had the same beautiful view like the day before.
Yesterday I wrote here in “47 today” that there are three magic landscape sceneries, do you remember it? The winner for me today is this place again.
Besides, we had -14 degrees today at the base area!! It was really really cold today.

But the downer parts of Route 1 aren’t in a good condition any more because of yesterday’s strong wind and today’s cold temperatures.
Tomorrow there will be many parts frozen again. For Beginners and Families with small children we are suggesting to take the Gondola downwards to the base area.
Well, we have planned many events for our customers tomorrow on January the 1st.
We will report the entire events for sure!

The kids area was very crowded, although the windy weather.
There were kids practicing ski or snowboard, slighting down the hill, or playing in the snow.
Opening times for tomorrow:
The moving belt will operate from 9 – 12 a.m. and from 1 – 3 p.m.

We opened on this bridge a slope for Beginners.
Besides, we are celebrating the “100th Ski Anniversary in Nagano” this season! Therefore Hakuba 47 offers every morning from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Ski and Snowboard Lessons FOR FREE!
Lets get some useful tips from the instructors first, then practice on one’s one! You will improve your skills faster, for sure!

We are expecting many customers these days… So why is it so windy? – On top of that it is blowing a gale ... (ToT) …
Because auf the strong wind the Gondola couldn’t operate most of the day. The wind calmed down at 12 :05 a.m., so we could open Line C and at the same time also Route 2.
Even it was cloudy the most of the day, I catched a shot, where the sun was breaking through the clouds.
Kind of mysterious isn’t it!

On Route 8 and 3 you will see wonderful sceneries like on this picture above.
When the weather is fine, you can see the North Alps from the top of Line C. From the terrace next to the Gondola, Line 8, you can see the Mt. Goryu. At the crossing point from Route 3 and 8 you have a wonderful view at Happo One.
New Years Day is coming soon. I really would like to take a picture of the sunrise, so I’m hoping for a fine morning…

Dear customers, there are only a few day left of the current year. Spending New Years Eve at a ski resort is something special, so we envy you! For this special time of the year the staff members at Hakuba 47 are preparing several events and items for you.
Yesterday the kids area opened, today are even more kickers at Route 4!
The big kickers are still missing, but we have 3 intermediate kickers and one 3 meters tall kicker for “beginners”.
Maybe there will be another surprises by tomorrow, who knows?! ;)

A girl in the slalom parcours from the Ritsumeikan senior high school. They have their training camp here in Hakuba from December 27 – 31th. The preparations for two big competitions had started!

To call the customers who have waited for the moguls: Sorry that we have kept you waiting for so long.
Finally we opened on Route 3 a two mogul slope lines!
There will be more mogul slope lines by the next days for sure. Still, we are still waiting for new snowfall, so please ride carefully on these slopes.

From today there are also school holidays in Japan! Therefore we saw here and there also kids taking ski lessons at Hakuba 47.
In the afternoon the snowfall started again and even now (4 p.m.) it is still snowing. We guess that we can expect tomorrow again a lot of fresh snow!
We are looking forward seeing you at the resort!
