"Double Black Diamond" Program

Hakuba 47 attracts many skiers and boarders that wish to access some of the unmarked tree skiing on the mountain. Unfortunately, skiing off-piste is a much more treacherous activity than most people realize. We started the “Double Black Diamond” (DBD) program to provide a modicum of safety education for our guests, and also to do our small part to help promote respect for the mountains among the general public. DBD candidates participate in a safety lecture before being accepted as a member. DBD membership includes the exclusive privilege to access a limited number of specified off-piste sections from Hakuba 47.
